ISPM 15 is the international phytosanitary standard for wood packaging used in cross-border transport. It applies to pallets, crates and other solid-wood packaging and helps prevent pests and customs delays.
Why it matters
Approved treatment and the IPPC mark show that export wood packaging meets the requirements of the destination market.
Common treatments
Heat Treatment (HT)
Heat the wood core to at least 56°C for a minimum of 30 minutes. It leaves no chemical residue.
Methyl Bromide (MB)
Fumigation must be performed by an authorized provider with the required documentation.
