What is JBL Shock Timer?

JBL Shock Timer shock detector, tracking damage during shipping, a previously unavailable feature, further enhances shipping quality, meeting shipper expectations.

There are many factors that cause damage to products during transportation: improper packaging or rough handling of goods, etc.

Sometimes it may not be possible to see the products inside from the outer packaging, especially when the packaging is very heavy, such as the packaging of precision machinery.

Therefore, it is impossible to detect product damage in time, and it is also difficult to find the cause of the accident, assign responsibility for product damage, and improve transportation quality.

Why can’t traditional vibration or drop testing sensors improve transportation quality?

• Because they cannot determine exactly when the vibration occurred. Without time information, it is impossible to find out the cause of the accident or blame the product for the damage. Unfortunately, all traditional sensors only evaluate whether a vibration occurred or not.
• Hence, the vibrating timer was born to solve this problem.
• If the vibration exceeds a certain level, the timer will stop, freeze the time and provide relevant information when excessive vibration occurs during transportation. (The timer cannot be reset).

The timer will display the time between the activation time and the stop time caused by the vibration.

From the moment the goods leave the warehouse (i.e. when the timer is activated), the timer will determine the exact time of the accident. This information can be used to find where the accident occurred and assign responsibility.

How to Use the JBL Shock Timer Vibration (Shock) Monitor

Tear off the sealing strip on the back and stick the vibration timer on the device or outside of the packaging.

The vibrating timer uses strong acrylic glue so it can be stuck to the surface of the wooden frame board without falling off.

Once attached, you can set a start time and then go. Pull out the blank sheet of paper and start the timer.

If you install the vibration timer on the outside of the package, be sure to install it near a corner of the package for best vibration test results.

If you are mounting it on a container or rack mounted load, make sure it adheres to rigid structural components for best results.

Avoid installing the timer in a location where it may be exposed to moisture or where water may accumulate (such as a closed shipping container).

Select Vibration Level

You need to check the impact fragility of the product being transported. For details, please contact “SANCOPACK”, a transportation specialist, because the shock level can vary significantly depending on the packaging arrangement for testing.
